Why do we include shea butter in so many of our ingredients, from our soaps to our bath fizzies and beyond? Because shea butter is one of nature’s finest, richest moisturizers, full of vitamins and antioxidants your skin loves—like omega essential fatty acids. It can even reduce fine lines and wrinkles with naturally present retinol. It makes a perfect base for most of our product line. Our shea butter body cream is a great way to incorporate this amazing ingredient. The cream is our heaviest weight moisturizer and we love to use it all over in colder, drier months but then also on feet, elbows and areas that tend to be drier.
In addition to a healthy helping of shea butter, our creams also include aloe vera, coconut oil, jojoba oil, glycerin, olive oil, avocado oil and witch hazel. We use aloe vera because of its healing benefits. Aloe is gentle and soothing to skin. Coconut oil is one of most used ingredients because of all its wonderful properties: it’s full of antioxidants and helps to improve skin’s elasticity. Jojoba oil is another ingredient that we love for our natural line of bath products. We love this oil because it closely resembles the skin’s natural oils with lots of antioxidants and pH balancing properties. Glycerin is a humectant so it help draw moisture to itself, that makes it pretty easy to understand why we would want to include it in our Shea Butter Cream. Olive and avocado oils are not just for the kitchen! They are rich hydrating oils that help heal and moisturize skin from the inside out. Witch hazel in the creams relieves inflammation & soothes skin.
There are many different scents that our shea butter body creams come in as well. From Coconut Lime, which will take you to island time, to White Tea Ginger, our sophisticated customer favorite that includes exotic jasmine, we are sure there is a shea butter cream scent you’ll love. If you prefer to keep things super pure, we have our Bare, which has no added scent as all. The Bare is also great if you’d like to create a custom mix with essential or fragrance oils. We also have a special shea butter cream, Peppermint Foot cream. This special option includes peppermint essential oil with the same base as our shea butter creams. The peppermint oil is particularly great for hard working feet because it helps relieve sore muscles and reinvigorate those barking dogs.
